Carbon sequestration describes long-term storage of carbon dioxide or other forms of carbon to either mitigate or defer global warming and avoid dangerous climate change.
Urban reclamation involves discovering blighted or abandoned properties in urban areas. These properties can be used to help offset carbon by sequestering carbon via tree plantings and beautifying the neighborhood, or serve as a renewable energy source by placing solar panels on the property.
Reducing emissions means substituting our most carbon-intensive energy sources, such as coal and natural gas, with cleaner sources, such as hydropower, geothermal, biomass, solar and wind power.
